Times change

Three years ago I lost an earring and thought it was the worst thing in the world. Maybe I've grown up too fast because now I think there are four main things in this world: The sun, the Earth, space and the darkness that will befall us when we run out of one of the first three. Some have told me that's grim. But isn't it true? Can they tell me that we'll be ok if we run out of sunlight? Can they tell me we'll all be ok if we have no Earth and no other space to flee to? Maybe I grew up too fast and they just haven't caught up yet. I believe it and I hope for everyone's sake that it never happens.
